Pitch systems usually fulfil three functions:

• Control of the pitch angle
Adjusting the pitch changes the speed of the blades and the amount of energy the turbine produces. The quicker you can move the blades, the easier it becomes to keep high-load peaks away from the drive-train and main turbine.

• The fail-safe function
Failure to respond quickly in severe weather conditions can overload the turbine’s structure and foundation. Our pitch systems can turn the blades out of the wind under any operating conditions and in any fail-safe mode.

• Feedback on blade position
