Unique hydraulic tank concept
To get around large, costly sliprings in the wind turbine’s nacelle, large drill-holes in the gearbox or several pipes in the shaft, we came up with a revolutionary way of installing the power pack in the hub.
Simpler power pack installation
Mounted on bearings, the hydraulic tank doesn’t move as the blades rotate. This means all high-tension power cables are stationary, eliminating the need for all but a few sliprings and reducing the size of the drill-hole through the gearbox. And there are no pipes running through the shaft at all. This makes our power packs cheaper to install and easier to maintain.
Scalable design
Our new power pack is equipped with an integrated rotation union, cooler and all the necessary bearings. And because the unit is modular in design, it can be scaled up when wind turbines get even larger in the future.
